To celebrate the second anniversary of our space, we have collaborated with 53 artists to create a pocket-sized day planner featuring a different artist for each week of the year. The artists include past collaborators, friends, artists featured in the shop as well as people we look up to and hope to work with in the future. In keeping with our tradition of artist’s multiples, (check out last year’s Object_ify box set!), this year we decided to compile a beautiful collection of art that is also useful all year long.
Each artist was asked to select a specific week in the year that holds some significance to them; be it a birthday, the date of a historical event, a holiday, etc. The New York-based artists, from illustrators Rachel Levit and Aidan Koch to photographer David Brandon Geeting to graphic designers and art directors like Eric Hu and Draw Down Books, have designed full spreads of their own as well as illustrations or text to accompany the calendar. It’s not only a planner but doubles as a unique, colorful artist’s book. The planner was printed using the Japanese risograph process. Each month is represented by one of the 12 colors of the color wheel and it’s printed on alternating color paper and ink.
